Educators. I'm thankful for their presence.

Discipleship includes 5 dynamic life expressions that United Methodist Christians do that reflect who we are as a people who believe in Jesus: Prayers. Presence. Gifts. Service. Witness.  Today's focus: Presence

[In this season of gratitude, I'm thinking about people for whom I'm thankful, persons who provide a service that eases, enhances my life. You have some in your life, too. So, between now and Thanksgiving, let's share this space to share stories about who they are, and what they do that causes us to thankfully think of them. Each day, I'll post a "I'm thankfully thinking of ________" story. Post your's as a comment.]

I'm thankfully thinking of educators.

I'm grateful for the presence of teachers and professors who helped me to learn, who opened my mind to new ideas and new ways of thinking. Their presence in my classrooms from Kindergarten through graduate studies encouraged me to appreciate and use God's gift of the ability to reason, to consider, to reflect, and to critique. They continue to guide my learning to new insights.

Questions

  • Who are you thankfully thinking of today?
  • What does s/he do that causes you to think thankfully of her/him?
  • How are your sharing your faith with that person?
